Kv1.X Family (Kv1.3)

Targeting voltage-gated potassium channels for targeted immunomodulation

Kv1.3 potassium channels

To ensure the safety and viability of potential drug candidates, we conduct thorough selectivity profiling by counter-screening against an extensive panel of other Kv channels.

Within the Kv1.X family of voltage-gated potassium channels, Kv1.3 has emerged as a highly specific and promising therapeutic target.

Kv1.3 channels are prominently expressed in immune cells, most notably in T-lymphocytes, and in particular, effector memory T cells (TEM). Kv1.3 channels play a vital physiological role: they regulate the resting membrane potential and provide the driving force necessary to support sustained calcium signaling during an active immune response. Kv1.3 is a high-value target for autoimmune diseases, metabolic disorders and cancer.

ChanPharm's Kv1.X Assays

ChanPharm offers robust high-throughput screening studies on Kv1.3 utilizing automated patch clamp systems. To ensure the safety and viability of potential drug candidates, we perform deep selectivity profiling by counter-screening against an extensive panel of other Kv channels (Kv1.1, Kv1.2, and beyond).
